Open house: Are we a nation of snoopers?

Karen could not believe what she was seeing. She was viewing a prestigious Dublin property on behalf of a prospective buyer when she happened upon a woman – who was also at the open viewing – rooting through the wardrobe in the main bedroom.

“I think it’s a very Irish thing,” Karen says of the property tyre-kickers. “The Irish are obsessed with property. They want to have a look at the house, and they also want to see what the interiors are like, what work has been done.”
